Really.
I’m just a newborn in blog years.
So when these ladies came a calling …
… and asked if I wanted to co-host this challenge and this link party, I should have said no. But no, not me. I jumped in head first …
Crazy me.
I started this blog to chronicle my full house overhaul. To update my Pottery Barn circa 2000 décor. But instead of actually getting my hands covered in paint and fingernails stained with stain, I’m announcing a link party just two months after launching ...?
And promoting that link party like the mad pr person that I am …
And promoting that link party like the mad pr person that I am …
And then trying desperately to visit all 361 blogs that linked up to said link party. And read them all. And leave a comment on them all …
… when I really should tackling this …

… my master bedroom.
Oh, but wait, I can’t go there until I tackle this …

That’s right. My son’s room. It’s been ‘in the works’ since the summer. The original plan was to have it done before his first day of high school. A date that has come and is long gone ...
… but now the items I’ve been accumulating for his room redo are starting to take over the house. The new bed frame purchased at Ikea a few weeks ago is currently collecting dust bunnies* in the entry …
… so in the interest of getting my son’s teen room done before he graduates, I’m digging in this week …
… and putting the master bedroom remodel on hold. For now.
*The dust bunnies are being collected so I can send them here …

Thanks for the fresh supply of dustbunnies....I was running low :) You go girl! I can't wait to see orange and grey with a little IKEA thrown in!
ReplyDeleteYou are a rockstar!
blessings,
karianne
I will be looking forward to the end result... the plans for both rooms look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI'm Karianne's midwest dust bunny factory! :)

OK, worst-Mom ever would like to just steal your inspiration board for my Son#1's room, which by the way has been "in progress" for about 4 years. By "in-progress" I mean having the closet doors leaned against the wall, the water spot spackled in where the toilet exploded overhead in the master bath and the same bright Toronto Maple Leafs blue wall paint that he picked when he was 10. Thank the heavens he is a teenager and this general malasma gives him the correct amount of angst :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck on that commenting Linda. Only 231 left to go! :)
You can do it! My little boys have been wanting me to paint a scene/mural on one entire wall of their room...they've been asking since last March...it's now this February. I finally started two weeks ago, took last week off, starting back today. I hope to be done this week!
ReplyDeleteI love orange - he is one lucky guy! Maybe we need another Impossibilities Challenge to get this done - it worked for us the first time! I'm thinking of building a little hutch to house all my dust bunnies - those suckers love to multiply!
ReplyDeleteKelly
Wow, that orange is gonna pop!
ReplyDeleteNow that our kitchen is done...
It's time for our bedroom. We keep asking the 14 year old what he wants in his room. We are getting a lot of shrugs. Perhaps if we do our room, he'll find the inspiration.
We've ordered him a PB Teen catalog - just for ideas - letting him know that wood projects we can prolly tackle as a family.
Somehow I managed to get MY HUSBAND on Pinterest! So, we can share ideas that way. I think he's getting the decorating bug!

This is precisely why I stopped my weekly etsy link party...I could get nothing done at home in the way of projects! It was all about visiting the linkers, doing post features, etc. You don't realize how much work it is until you do one, right?! Our party was a blast though, very fun to see all the creativity out there! Looking forward to seeing your son's room redo...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sending the dust bunnies to Karianne...I just cleaned out a zoo of them yesterday!!
Don't sell yourself short. Even though you are a "newborn" blogger, you're up at the top of my reading list right along with the "big" bloggers. You're doing a fantastic job and I look forward to reading all of your posts, no matter what project you are working on. Just love your style!
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone with projects being in the works for awhile. I think most of us jump ship on projects to start new ones and go back and forth all the time.
Keep up the great work!
Thank you! You just made my day!

ReplyDeleteFor you on a Monday! :)
Ha ha! That was funny!
DeleteI feel your pain, or I should say Sam's pain. We started my youngests (12) room in August. It's January. We got the messy part cleaned up, but what happened to the decorating part????? I need to commit to that right here and now!!
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
Oh ya, good luck with that! I had a whole week off work to devote to my master bedroom makeover and still it took me the rest of the month of weekends to finish ALMOST all of it!!
ReplyDeleteSending you positive "you can get 'er done" vibes!
xox
Can't wait to see his room done.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how you transform his room. I have too many projects going on right now, so I'm with you on something needing to be put on hold.
ReplyDeleteHolly
I understand the clutter, I'm going through the same thing myself. But I can't wait to see it when it's all done!
ReplyDeleteSometimes we don't know when to say no as yes comes out even though we are thinking no oh well his room will get done hopefully before he gets married.........lol Sorry.............
ReplyDeleteGo get ém Linda! I love orange and can't wait to see it all together!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your Master Bedroom! Maybe it's gonna be the inspiration to beging working on mine!
