a week of funny while i enjoy the sunny ... bliss ranch

What can I say about my guest poster today?

The infamous Miss Bliss.  From Bliss Ranch.

She has like a gazillion kids.  Oodles of talent.  And she's the best comment leave ever.  Seriously.  Her comments make me laugh.  And not just the comments she leaves on my blog ...

... but the comments she leaves on other blogs.  Lots of blogs. Lots of comments.  She's everywhere.  And she always gets there before me.  It's like she's omnipresent.  Or maybe she's just hiding from those gazillion kids ...

All I know is this week of sunny funny would not be complete without a guest post from the funniest comment leaver in the world.

Take is away Bliss ...

Hello to Linda and her ItAllStartedWithPaint followers.

I'm Bliss from Bliss Ranch and I've come over here to entertain you while she is off enjoying herself.  I think I heard her mumble something about umbrella drinks and a cabana boy named Mike.

Funny in the Sunny.

Hmmm...... hard to be funny when I just want to type all sorts of nice mushy stuff about Linda, but I'm sure I'll get over that.  I want to tell all of you about how supportive she is, how she included my lil 'ol blog in bigger and better things back when I had like 20 followers.

I'm not sure why she even gave me a second glance.  She introduced me around like I was the new kid in school and she didn't leave me sitting all alone at lunch time.  She never asked for anything in return (until now) which was good since I had nothing to offer.

Now she would like a guest post, and make it funny too so it stays with the theme, oh and have it done by the 10th.

And because she  never left me alone at lunch time, of course I want to do a funny in the sunny post for her, you know.. to pay her back and thank her.

So this morning I looked out my window for inspiration as I reflected on a fitting post for Linda.  I saw fog and dog doo.  How freaking inspirational is that?  It's August.... helllooo Mr. Sun I need some shine to put the sunny in the funny.

Being the visionary I am, I saw through the fog and dog stuff and realized Linda's like my dog.  I love my dog.  He's a great companion, always there when I need him.  She's not quite as hairy and I can't imagine she would leave brown surprises on anyone's lawn, but she is always there when I need her.

And if she lived closer I'd make her a little food caddy too.

Just look at that chippy finish.

Forget that I wanted lime green to mimic that beautiful inspirational view of trees in the fog.  I settled for metallic orange - because of the 999 little bottles of craft paint, I have no lime green.  998 shades of blue yes.  I probably should have used a blue since it's an appetite suppressant and based on the amount of scooping Brawn needs to do in the yard my dog could use some appetite suppressing.  (It was in our prenup that I don't do doo).

The food caddy started out as some sort of a one sided birdhouse planter at a garage sale.  It had green plastic pots in it but I left those at the sale and only took the terra cotta ones stacked with it.

Off came the houses and I painted a coat of ASCP in old white.  I was less than impressed picturing dog food drool all over white.  I told myself Linda would want me to use orange.  You saw her fish right?  So I painted on metallic orange, used steel wool to sand it back off, and finished it with a coat of dark wax.

The holes are a perfect fit for the stainless steel dog dishes that Mo eats out of.  I took his dishes out for photos and inserted white cereal bowls.  Why did I do that?  My dog has dog dishes.  Stainless steel.  These are corell cereal bowls.

My dog Mo was sort of mad at me, this didn't turn out at all like I described it to him.

I told him I had to take his picture because he's just like Linda and he should be in the post.  He looked at me like I intended to beat him with the camera, then he turned away and proceeded to lick his....

.... paw.

And he didn't understand any of the comparisons to Linda.  You see, at our house Linda is the cat.  Yes our cat's name is Linda.  She's pretty crafty too.

Thank you Linda for inviting me here and for introducing me to the other kids.
You are terrific.

Thank you Bliss!  I would love to dine from that orange food caddy!  And the only reason I'm not as hairy as your adorable dog is because it's summer and I'm at the beach. Now in the dark, cold, and gloomy winter months I might give Mo a run for his hairy money ... :)

Let's keep in touch ...

  1. Well, since I no longer own a dog *sniff*, I will have to use this idea for something else. But not the cats. The cats are spoiled little poopy-heads. I blame their mother. Thanks, Lib, for leaving me with spoiled grandkitties.

  2. The world needs to know that I only beat Linda to the comment thing the first 4 months of my blog life when I read from my blog roll and sat glued to the computer for someone's new post to pop up.

  8. I love any post that features Mo. And, I love that you have a cat named Linda. You must be much further along with your Mo's studies. My puggle failed chemistry, H2O would be lost on her BUT I love it!

  11. He looks so sweet. I love pictures of dogs but for some reason I feel about them like some people do about children....better yours than mine. Always a little envious that others have their great "friends"...

  12. You just never know how your canine friends will react to change in their lives. I guess they wouldn't make good bloggers, since it's all about changing things up. Maybe he has a doggie friend who's into stylish dining. Woof.

  13. I also just love and adore Bliss, only she could create a funny post that also included references to dogs, doggie doodoo, and still make a DIY project all wrapped in one! Enjoy your sunny week!

  32. Are you sure he wasn't lickin' his chops over thoughts of what would soon be fillin' his "new" bowls in his puppy chow corral? That is too stinkin' cute.
