Do you think since I planted my plants in pretty pots …
... pretty pots with black and white stripes and polka dots …
… do you think they’ll have a better chance at a longer life?
Like those pretty pots will inspire my plants to tough out the tough times …
You know, when I may or may not forget to water them …?
So in my quest to make my plants feel better about themselves ...
... boost their plant confidence, if you will ...
And then I painted the rims with some black and white acrylic paint. Next came some stripes that I just free-handed with a flat brush…
… and then I added the dots and polka dots using the eraser on the end of a #2 pencil.
Two coats of poly (on the painted rims only) later …
They were potted with red geraniums …
And set out on the front porch all pretty like …
… what with their black and white stripes and polka dots.
And as for the rest of the front yard?
You'll need to tune in tomorrow for more …

Love your polkadots... Love your pots! Way more fun space for your geraniums to grow :-) I gave some terracotta pots a new life, too, and everytime I see them they make me smile... And so far my geraniums in them are smiling too! Pretty sure it's their new pretty space :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the pots! By-the-by....it's going to be over 100 here the next couple of days...maybe they need to "vacation" in the shade until the weekend? Or have their saucers filled with water? UPDATE on my yard: My weeds are now up to my knees! Hooray for "re-purposed landscaping!" xo
ReplyDeleteI definitely foresee a long lived geranium life in those pretty pots!
ReplyDeleteHello, Linda! My Mom has potted plants on the steps leading up to her front door and I love this look! You've taken it a step further with your adorable painted pots.

ReplyDeleteThese pots turned out super cute!! Love them!
ReplyDeleteFrom personal experience the cuter planters only help you remember to water them for a bout a week or so, after that, good luck to them:)

I love your cheerful pots. I think you still need a heart to heart with your plants though. They like to hear how beautiful they are. It works for me even when I forget to water. Thanks for linking up to Hot Fun in the Summertime.
